Built to work
for every shopper,
on every device.
This statement explains how we approach digital accessibility on eazyphones.com, the standard we measure ourselves against, what we've done so far, where we still have work to do, and how to reach us directly if something on the site gets in your way.
Why This Page Exists
EAZY PHONES (BIN 1001503255) operates eazyphones.com to sell smartphones, smart watches, headphones, earphones, and tablets to customers across Canada and the United States. We want every visitor — including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, rely on voice control, or need higher contrast or larger text — to be able to browse our catalogue, compare devices, and complete a purchase without unnecessary barriers. This statement describes the concrete steps we take toward that goal and gives you a direct way to tell us when we fall short.

The Standard We Measure Ourselves Against
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as our internal benchmark for eazyphones.com. WCAG 2.1 AA is the most widely recognized accessibility standard in Canada and the United States and is the standard referenced by Ontario's accessibility regulations.
We describe our current status as partial conformance, under ongoing review. This means many parts of the site meet WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria today, we are actively working through the remainder, and we do not represent that eazyphones.com is fully or perfectly conformant at this time. We believe an honest, specific description of where we stand is more useful to you than a blanket claim of full compliance we could not stand behind.
What We've Already Built In
These are concrete, current features of the site — not aspirational goals.
Semantic structure
Pages use structured headings, landmarks, and lists so screen readers can navigate the site logically, not just read it top to bottom.Full keyboard access
Navigation menus, product filters, cart, and checkout can be operated without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator as you tab through the page.Colour contrast
Our theme's text and background colour combinations are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios, and information is never conveyed by colour alone.Descriptive text & alt text
Product images carry descriptive alt text, links and buttons use meaningful labels instead of generic "click here" text, and forms carry associated labels.Resizable text
Text can be resized up to 200% using standard browser zoom without loss of content or function, and layouts reflow rather than clipping text.Consistent navigation
Category menus, search, and the checkout flow follow the same pattern on every page, so return visits and assistive-technology use stay predictable.Accessible checkout forms
Checkout fields include clear labels and inline error messages that are announced to assistive technology, not just shown as colour changes.Ongoing review cycle
New pages and theme updates are checked against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria before and after release, rather than accessibility being treated as a one-time project.Where We Still Have Work to Do
We would rather tell you where the gaps are than let you find them on your own. As of the date at the top of this page, the areas below are not yet at full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, and we are actively working through them.
Manufacturer product imagery
Some product photos and specification graphics are supplied directly by device manufacturers and may lack fully descriptive alt text. We are reviewing and rewriting these on a rolling basis.
Embedded third-party tools
The embedded Google Maps panel on our Contact page, our live chat widget, and our payment gateway's hosted checkout fields are built and maintained by outside providers. We choose vendors with strong accessibility track records where possible, but we do not control their code directly.
Older archived pages
A small number of older product listings created before our current accessibility review process may not yet meet every criterion. These are prioritized for update as they are identified.
PDF specification sheets
Some manufacturer-supplied PDF spec sheets linked from product pages were not originally authored to be screen-reader accessible. Where this affects your ability to get product information, contact us and we will provide the details directly.
Assistive Technology We Test Against
We test key pages — the homepage, category pages, a sample of product pages, and the checkout flow — using current versions of the following combinations. This list will grow as our review process matures.
Screen readers
NVDA and JAWS on Windows with recent versions of Chrome and Firefox; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS with Safari.
Input methods
Keyboard-only navigation, and Windows and macOS built-in voice control and switch-access features.
Browser magnification & zoom
Native browser zoom up to 200%, and operating-system-level screen magnification tools.
Mobile
iOS and Android built-in accessibility features, since a significant share of orders are placed from a phone or tablet.
How to Report a Barrier
If you use assistive technology and hit a barrier anywhere on eazyphones.com — a product you can't add to your cart, a form field a screen reader can't read, or anything else — we want to know. You never need to explain or justify why you're asking; a description of what happened and where is enough.
Tell us what happened
Email or call us with the page URL or product name, what you were trying to do, and what went wrong or what assistive technology you were using.
We confirm receipt
We aim to acknowledge every accessibility report within one business day, Monday through Friday.
We investigate
Our team reproduces the issue and identifies whether it's a site defect, a third-party component, or a specific device or browser combination.
We follow up directly
We tell you what we found, what we're doing about it, and — if you need the information or a completed purchase right away — offer to complete the task with you by phone or email in the meantime.
The Laws and Standards Behind This Statement
Because we ship only within Canada and the United States, this statement is written to reflect the accessibility standards and legal frameworks that apply in both.
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
As an Ontario business, our website practices are informed by the Information and Communications Standard under the AODA, which points to WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level AA as its reference standard.
Ontario Human Rights Code
Requires that goods, services, and facilities be provided without discrimination on the basis of disability, which extends to the accessibility of an online storefront.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III
U.S. courts have increasingly treated commercial websites as covered by Title III's requirement that places of public accommodation be accessible. We reference WCAG 2.1 AA as the practical standard most commonly applied in this context.
Section 508 (reference standard)
While Section 508 applies directly to U.S. federal agencies rather than private retailers, its technical requirements are aligned with WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA and we use it as an additional reference point.
This section is provided for transparency and general information only and is not legal advice. It does not constitute a certification of legal compliance with any specific statute.
Accessibility Contact
